Before going on this hike, someone suggested bringing along pens for the children in the villages we'd pass through. I brought dozens of pens with me. It was amazing advise! I gave all my pens away. The kids loved them. It was well after dark when they came to collect their prizes. We played games for awhile and I took pictures of them with my camera and my flashlight. This shot of a boy and the pen I gave him commemorates that amazing night! -Muang Sing, Laos
